Touch-a-Truck is a family-friendly, interactive extravaganza that will feature an up-close look at various “big trucks,” including emergency response vehicles, fire engines, construction truck equipment, and more. Children will be able to interact with drivers, learn about the vehicles’ functions, and experience the transportation world firsthand!
The event will be from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, March 23 at Blackham Coliseum and will feature a sensory hour from 2-3 p.m. for those sensitive to loud noises.
“Touch-a-Truck opens the door for us to nurture community involvement and champion youth education,” said Roya Boustany, President of Junior League of Lafayette. “We take joy in offering families an interactive and educational adventure, while simultaneously strengthening our sense of community.”
Fumy Rita, Touch-a-Truck Chair, expressed enthusiasm for the spring event.
“Our dedicated committee is tirelessly assembling an exhilarating array of vehicles to capture attendees’ imaginations.” Rita highlighted, “This event provides children with a delightful opportunity to explore diverse professions and vehicles in an engaging and hands-on manner.”
Tickets are $10 each for individuals 3 years and older (children under 2 years are
admitted for free) if purchased from a Junior League of Lafayette Member or at the
Junior League of Lafayette Headquarters (504 Richland Ave, Lafayette, LA 70508) during office hours (9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday). These can be purchased until March 22.
Tickets can also be purchased online or at the door via Eventbrite. Those tickets will include an additional service and processing fee of $2.51 for a total ticket price of $12.51 per ticket. We are proud to present this event as a fundraising initiative,
